Help shape our next chapter. We are recruiting volunteer board members for the upcoming term. The key priority for the next term is developing and launching a strategic plan that will guide our work for the next 3 to 5 years.
About the Board
- Meets once a month for [90 minutes]
- Policy-governance focus with clear roles for board vs staff/operations
- Building out standing and ad-hoc committees to support key priorities
- Collaborative, respectful, community-minded
What you will do
- Contribute to a strategic planning process and approve the final plan
- Set policy and monitor outcomes
- Participate in one committee and occasional working sessions
- Act as an ambassador in the community
Who we are looking for
You do not need prior board experience. We value people who are thoughtful, curious, and committed to good governance. Skills that would strengthen our board this term include:
- Strategic planning
- Finance and budgeting
- Fundraising and sponsorship
- Legal or policy experience
- Marketing and communications
- Facilities and operations
- Community engagement and volunteer coordination
- Equity, diversity, and inclusion
Time commitment
- Board meetings: 1 evening per month
- Committee work: 2 to 4 hours per month
- Term length: 3 years
