Week 5 Update

Hey everyone,

Just a couple of updates from around the rink.

Popup Shop – A reminder that we will have Sean from Hit The Broom Curling Gear setting up a pop up shop in the lounge on Wednesday November 12th at 7:00pm for those who might be interested in grabbing some new gear. If you have any specific questions for Sean about equipment needs he is CC’d on this email.

Volunteer Opportunities – A few people have been asking about volunteer opportunities for this season. To help keep things more organized we are moving to an online service to list all opportunities. You can find that list here  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0544ACA72DA7F5CE9-60202845-stmarys#/ The process is pretty simple but if you have any questions please let me know. Keep this link handy as we will update the page with more opportunities as they become available. As always, if you feel like you have a unique skill set or service you can provide to work off your volunteer bond please get in touch.

Junior Program – Registration is officially open for our Junior Curling program. This program is a great way for youth to learn the sport, build skills, and have fun on the ice in a positive, welcoming environment. All experience levels are welcome. https://form.jotform.com/243303976878269

Tuesday Night Challenge League –  We are still looking for teams to join us on Tuesday Nights at 8:30pm for a new league. This friendly intermediate league is open to all curlers. Teams face a new opponent each week in a relaxed but spirited setting. You can enter as a full four-person team, or sign up as an individual and we will do our best to find you a team. It’s a great fit for players who enjoy strategy, good shots, and a bit of competition without the pressure of a top-tier league. The League is set to start December 2nd. Current members only pay $50 to join this league and new members start at $250. Assemble your team and register here: https://form.jotform.com/253013326240240

Bar Coordinator Update – We’re happy to share that Emily Febrey has joined us as our new Bar Coordinator. Emily first joined the club last season through our Learn to Curl program and has quickly become part of the community. She’s excited to take on the role, meet more members, and help keep the lounge running smoothly throughout the season. We’re looking forward to having her as part of the team!
